| Why do people like to jump in pictures?
I don't mean jump into a shot. I mean jump as soon as the camera clicks.
I hate it. It makes me want to pull out my hair. | comments: Leave a comment |
| So I was busy talking on the phone the other day when my sister yells for me from her room. She tells me our estranged father wanted to know if we (as in the entire family) could all go out to dinner one time. I yelled back and asked if he also wanted to include Mom. My sister said he wanted to. Life is short, he said. He would like for them to be friends before he dies.
What is that supposed to mean? Is he suffering from some terminal illness?
I don't think I will ever be ready for a sit down dinner with my entire family. We used to do this when we were younger. My mom liked to pretend that we were normal during the weekends and always made a huge Sunday dinner. She nagged all of us to eat dinner together once a week even though most of us disliked each other and could never get along.
My dad came over the other day. I lock myself up in my room when I know he's here. I'm not ready to talk to my dad. He tries but I don't really know how to talk to him, to be honest. We never really had a substantial father-daughter relationship. He was never around when I was growing up and I kinda resigned myself to that fact by the time I was ten.
And because it's easier to deal with what I'm familiar with, I just stay away. | comments: Leave a comment |

After ten years, my friends C and N finally got married.
C is one of my oldest friends. She is one of the two friends that I've kept from grade school.
A day before her wedding, she tells me I have to make a toast at the reception. And of course, being the perpetual crammer that I am, I wait until I am ten minutes away from speaking in front of her guests to come up with something to say.
I ended up babbling and eventually choking on some incoherent speech about finding the One and wishing them all the happiness in the world.
What I should have said was this:
"When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible. Here's to the rest of your lives together!" | comments: Leave a comment |
| I'm flying out to Miami next week.
Then back to Manila after a week.
Then I will fly back to Cleveland this April and stay there for a month.
I can't wait to go back to school! :P | comments: Leave a comment |
| My brother takes care of our dogs at home. He makes sure they eat every day. He also works from home and keeps ungodly hours. Since we've found him passed out in his room with the dogs whimpering for food a few times coming home from our jobs, someone would always wake him up and ask him if he has fed the dogs.
Today, my brother posted a note on the fridge.

This is the note up close.

It reads, "Kumain na kami." ("We already ate.") | comments: Leave a comment |

| If you won $100 this afternoon, what would you do with it?
I would put it in the bank.
I just got back from my trip to Cleveland but already, I'm saving up for another plane ticket. I spent the 4th of July in Cleveland (with Eric!) and had an amazing time. Now that I'm back in Manila, I've been plotting and planning. My target is to be there a week before Thanksgiving.
And if things go as planned, I will also celebrate my 28th birthday with Eric. And Christmas. And New Year's Eve!
This year has been extraordinary. There were so many things I wanted to do at the beginning of the year and one by one, I've seen each goal scratched off my list. I am truly thankful for all the blessings I've been receiving since this year started. | comments: Leave a comment |

| I love you through sparks and shining dragons, I do, Now there's poetry, in an empty coke can.
I love you through sparks and shining dragons, I do, Now there's majesty, in a burnt out caravan.
You got me off the paper round, Just sprang out of the air, The best things come from nowhere, I love you, I don't think you care.

| This is the longest dry spell I've ever had. I've been so caught up answering work emails smartly and producing convincing proposals that my enthusiasm for writing runs out by the time I get home.
I still work at ungodly hours so whatever free time I have, I spend it:
1. with Eric (if he's around.) 2. sleeping. 3. shopping for girl essentials. 4. seeing old friends (but only for a limited amount of time!) 5. writing lists.
